The beautiful Fairview Neighbourhood is located on the Westside of Vancouver. It is a charming mix of tree lined streets and commercial areas including Granville Island, the South Granville District, Kitsilano Beach, and Vancouver General Hospital.
Granville Island Public Market
The Granville Island Public Market is located in a peninsula and shopping district home to a large public market, beautiful marina, hotel, artisan shops and various performing arts theatres.
The island was once an industrial manufacturing area and now is a popular area for tourists and locals alike.
The market is home to 50 permanent retailers and more than one-hundred day vendors in stalls throughout the market selling a variety of foods and handmade crafts.
Open between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday to Sunday.
Kitsilano Beach
Located on Cornwall Avenue at the north end of Yew Street. The Seawall runs along the side of the beach and Kitsilano Pool is at the west side.
The beach itself is home to a variety of activities including Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Playgrounds, Swimming Raft, Dog Off-Leash Areas, Hockey, Volleyball, Tennis, Paddling Skimboarding and Windsurfing, among others.
South Granville Street
One of Vancouver's toniest residential areas, with some of the city's oldest mansions and largest lots. It was originally developed by the Canadian Pacific Railways as an area for the elite to live back in the 1900's, and many of the grand estates can still be glimpsed past tall hedges at the end of long driveways.
The strip caters to the well-heeled local residents with excellent restaurants and some of Vancouver's best high-end shopping.
Gastown
Vancouer's oldest and most iconic neighbourhood is just a short 10 minute drive away. It grew from a single tavern founded by John "Gassy Jack" Deighton back in 1867. Today, the area maintains a historic charm and independent spirit.
The area is known for it's famous Victorian Architecture Houses, one of a kind galleries, impeccably curated boutiques and culinary fare. It is the ideal neighbourhood to explore on foot!
